SCHOOLS / NURSERIES

Section 10 of the planning and development Act 2000 states that local authority development plans should include objectives for ‘the provision, or the facilitation of the provision, of services for the community including, in particular, Schools, Crèches and other education and childcare facilities. 

In a statement on 18 June 2010 the Government set out new principles for councils to consider when determining planning applications for new school development and this included a presumption in favour of such applications predicated upon a series of set out criterion.

We bring our expertise to bear where it comes to the development of schools and nurseries and other childcare facilities.  This includes planning issues surrounding the alteration and extension of existing schools and childcare facilities and the construction and establishing of new schools and childcare facilities.
